Mobus Demonstrates Negotiating Game at Conferences
Los Angeles, June 1, 2015 — Mobus Creative Negotiating demonstrated its new, animated simulation, “Negotiating on Thin Ice: The Zamboni Game” at the ISM and ATD Annual Meetings in May. The Institute for Supply Management is the leading association for supply chain professionals. Frank Mobus, CEO, said, “Negotiation is an essential skill for supply-chain professions so we were pleased to see these people testing their skills and enjoying The Zamboni Game. We’ve got a few minor changes and fixes to make but we are really looking forward to getting the game out to the public as soon as we can.”
Two weeks later at ATD, The Association for Talent Development, the Mobus team had a chance to introduce the game to corporate learning and organizational development professionals. Dr. Bill Sanders, Subject Matter Expert at Mobus, said, “This group was much different from the one at ISM. Instead of being everyday negotiators, they are responsible for helping their coworkers acquire negotiating skills. They had a lot of fun. The game is just comical and unpredictable enough to keep people engaged and maybe have a laugh or two. In the process they learn something about how negotiation works.”
Also at ATD, Frank Mobus, CEO gave a presentation, “Using Games (Both Live And Computer-Simulated) in Negotiation Training.” “We’ve been using games in negotiation training for 30 years,” said Mobus. Here we had a fun audience and we had them all participate in a live game. We discussed what’s worked for us and what hasn’t. It was a great opportunity to meet fellow training professionals that are working on adding games for their learners and that were interested in our experiences.”
Finally, a film crew from Public TV show “InAmerica” was at ATD shooting footage for an upcoming episode of the show. The episode will showcase the Mobus Creative Negotiating program and look at how Mobus came to develop it. The show will air near the end of summer on public TV stations throughout the USA and abroad.
About using games in negotiating training Frank Mobus, CEO, said, “We’ve been using games for almost 30 years and it’s one of the things attendees say really helps them. Since games and gamification are now a major area of interest in corporate learning we look forward to sharing our hard-earned experiences with other professionals. We’ll talk about what works and what doesn’t. But we won’t just talk; everyone attending will take part in an actual, live negotiating game. We’ll also show an interactive video simulation and our new computer-based game featuring avatars. Like everything we do, this talk promises to be both fun and enlightening, in our own style of “Edutainment.”
